Our client is a non-profit organization, dedicated to transforming the landscape of public education They have an academic model designed to create small, safe, high-performing learning environments that meet individual student needs. They are seeking a Senior Accountant to add to their Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities: - Prepare bank entries, journal entries, revenue reports, expense accruals, and invoices -Guarantee successful/timely month-end close by meeting daily deadlines - Analyze financial data, trends, and budget - Review transaction reports and financials and collaborate with accounting team members and finance team - Assist the Accounting Compliance team in reviewing the classification and treatment of revenues and expenses related to various schools - Prepare schedules and organize documentation in preparation for audit visits - Work with schools to ensure compliance with department policies and procedures - Participate in school-site visits

Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or related field, required - 3-5 years of general accounting experience - Experience in education, non-profits, or government accounting, preferred - CPA or CPA-track, preferred - Knowledge and/or interest in charter school operations is a plus - Solid foundation and knowledge of GAAP - Strong Excel skills (Pivot, VLookup, Index/Match, etc.) - Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously - Excellent organization, prioritization, oral and written communication skills
