Using Crowdfunding to Raise Capital

In May of 2016, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's rules permitting small private companies to raise capital through crowdfunding became effective. Under these new rules, in any 12-month period companies are now allowed to raise up to an aggregate amount of $1 million through crowdfunding offerings. At our next meeting, Josh Schneiderman will provide an overview of crowdfunding to help you understand whether it's appropriate for your clients who are seeking to raise capital.

Josh Schneiderman is a partner at Snell & Wilmer L.L.P.. He advises clients on a wide range of transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and public and private offerings of debt and equity securities.
