FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and FOBO (Fear of Better Options) have been written about by many as a phenomenon caused by social media that affects many Millennial (as well as those of all generations).    Almost everyone is a follower of someone on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Snap Chat who has posted a picture or story about some incredible destination or activity that EVERYONE must experience.  I would be difficult for any of us not to react with some of mix of anxiety and admiration.

Also there is a counter movement called Digital Minimalism, where others also practice another type of  (FOBO):  Fear of Burning Out.   This group advocates constructive ways for the FOMO camp to detox and break from the daily life on screens and social media.

Debbie Bauer will moderate a discussion on this topic and share some insightful information with the BP crew.   Everyone has a professional and personal FOMO or FOBO story.  Please bring yours Thursday, November 2, 2017 and be part of this stimulating conversation!
