Description: I have a 2nd generation manufacturing client in OC who is growing & in need of an additional estimator immediately.
Primary responsibilities
• Review and evaluate Requests for Estimates
• Reviewing estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy
• Reviewing construction/architectural documents and understanding scope of work to bid
• Executing take-offs of construction documents
• Inputting take-offs into Quickbooks to export to Excel
• Generating estimate in Excel spreadsheet template
• Obtaining pricing for materials from vendors
• Updating material pricing in Quickbooks as needed
• Preparing/updating weekly estimating schedule and ensuring timely completion of estimates
• Conduct cost analysis in Excel template for new products
• Informing immediate supervisor of any inaccuracies or omissions in quoted item or Quickbooks database
• Developing and maintaining resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors,government requirements, etc.
• Attending departmental meetings as required
• Analyze customer drawings, specifications, bid packages and other documentation to establish labor requirements, general conditions and needed material to prepare job estimate
• Interact with customers directly to gather necessary information in order to quote jobs per plans
• Assist with customers in product design and selection of materials to best fit project scope and customer requirements
• Take on other duties, roles or responsibilities as assigned
Skills & Requirements
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
• Experience with estimating techniques and costing
• Ability to perform detailed labor and material take-offs
• Solid Communication both verbal and written.
• Ability to establish timelines and budgets.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Must have the ability to create bids for Design / Build projects.
• Must have solid computer skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, mainly Excel
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various types of construction plans
• Ability to effectively present information both orally and in written form to respond to questions from customers and other employees
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express technical concepts clearly and concisely
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
