SeltzerFontaine is pleased to represent the Santa Monica City Attorney’s Office in a unique search: The Santa Monica City Attorney’s Office seeks a Special Counsel/Chief of Staff to assist the City Attorney in office management and high priority legal matters. The Office, comprised of 26 attorneys and 20 support staff, is a full-service law department committed to providing the highest quality legal counsel to the City Council, Boards and Commissions, and all City staff.

The position requires State Bar of CA membership, 10+ years of broad legal practice experience, outstanding leadership and management skills, superior academic and work records, and a demonstrated commitment to public service.

The most qualified candidates will have substantial expertise representing public clients facing difficult legal challenges, including complex litigation and/or significant land use, planning, and zoning matters, plus extensive experience leading teams in large organizations.

Compensation range: $228,492-$282,084 plus generous benefits.
