Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith Llp is seeking a motivated associate attorney to join our Real Estate and Public Agency practice. If you are looking to use your talents representing clients on complicated, public policy laden matters that have the potential to impact daily life in Southern California and you’re comfortable digging into complex proceedings which often involve issues of first-impression, then we may have a place for you on our team.
Required Qualifications
We are looking for a dedicated lawyer interested in public policy related litigation with one to three years of legal experience representing clients in real estate related litigation
- Thoughtful legal researcher
- Insightful analyst
- Talented writer with experience in both expository writing and persuasive legal writing
- Admission to the California Bar
- Strong track record of excellent client service
- Solid interpersonal skills
Graduation from an accredited post-secondary institution and law school are a must, as are strong academic credentials.
Desired Qualifications
- Legal experience with public agencies and their rules and regulations
- Familiarity with legal work on behalf of large institutional clients
- Familiarity with CEQA/NEPA
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to scaffold multiple matters at one time
- Ability to work professionally with others
- Knowledge of land use planning and zoning rules and regulations
- Knowledge of basic environmental matters, including basic engineering and science
- Familiarity with construction processes and methods
- Good organizational skills
- Strong time management abilities
- Ability to think on your feet
