Trusts and Estates Litigation Associate--West LA

Name:
Roberta Kass; [email protected]

Description:
Would you like to specialize in trusts and estates litigation? A boutique west Los Angeles firm has an immediate opening for a litigation associate with 3-5 years of strong civil (or trusts and estates) litigation experience. Prior experience in trusts and estates litigation is preferred but not required. The partner is a terrific mentor and will train. Candidates should have recent state court experience. You would be part of a growing trusts and estates, and conservatorship, litigation, and administration practice. Salary is commensurate with experience in addition to benefits and a bonus based on year-end billing and cases brought to the firm by the Associate. The firm offers a collegial environment with work-life balance, willingness to teach and mentor junior attorneys to grow professionally, and no minimum monthly billable hour requirement (annual expectation is 1800), though they expect the new attorney to understand the unpredictable demands of a growing litigation practice.

Responsibilities include: • Ability to independently manage caseloads and litigation deadlines; • Heavy emphasis on research, writing and careful analysis, including drafting pleadings, law and motion practice and the occasional drafting of appellate briefs; • Preparing discovery requests and extensive meet and confer correspondence, preparing for and taking/defending depositions, and drafting subpoenas; • Making Court appearances; • Preparing for and participating in mediation and trials on contested Trusts and Estates and Conservatorship matters.

Sound interesting? Please contact me or, if this is not for you, pass it along to a friend or colleague who might be interested. Thanks!
