Shelley Nelbert
Shelley has consistently demonstrated an ability to be effective in helping her clients attain hard to find locations, negotiating skillfully on their behalf, achieving and often exceeding their goals. She works with privately held corporations, professional service firms, physicians, entertainment/media and gym/fitness centers. Shelley’s mission stems from a sound but simple goal: reducing costs and mitigating risk, while finding the best location for each client’s business. Through vast market knowledge and an understanding of each client’s business, Shelley is able to design and execute a unique strategy that flows from the real estate to the growth of the business. She has sourced two joint venture/ground up developments on behalf of her clients; using their occupancy to collateralize the buildings. Her clients were able to use their occupancies to obtain equity participation. Ms. Nelbert has demonstrated team-building abilities, attracting and managing top notch teams of experts such as space planners/designers, attorneys, insurance professionals, CPA’s, corporate relocation specialists, and facilities management experts that address every aspect of her clients’ real estate needs. Shelley’s special areas of expertise include tenant representation/advisory, building purchase, industrial and retail properties, joint ventures, equity participation, and development, opinion of valuation. She develops programs for landlords to maximize their assets. She enjoys teaching her clients and friends how to build wealth through real estate through passive real estate investments to achieve consistent cash flow and equity appreciation. She is a creative and relentless negotiator. She believes that providing service after the deal is done is an important ingredient in assisting her clients; allowing them to focus on their business. Prior to her career in commercial real estate, Ms Nelbert was in the entertainment business. She worked in the development, production and packaging of television projects. Her creative background has given her an ability to analyze real estate issues in a creative manner and deliver solutions that may be overlooked by other professionals. Shelley came from the University of Texas to Los Angeles one summer and never left! She transferred to UCLA and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree; majoring in Sociology and minoring in Psychology. She has three adult children and two grandchildren and is enjoying her growing family! Cost: Free

As a certified parent educator and coach, Sari Goodman advises, educates, and supports parents in raising children. She has a BA in psychology (spending a lot of time in Franz Hall), teaching credentials, and a Masters degree in Education, Sari has over 30 years experience working with parents through her role as a teacher and elementary school administrator, and as a parent advisor and parent education instructor. She spent a few years as an adjunct instructor at Mt. St. Mary’s College in the Department of Education and was a teacher and research assistant at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute (now the Semel Institute) Early Childhood Center. She was recently a guest on the podcast Diverse Thinking, Different Learning where she spoke about the pressures parents are under in contemporary life and gave strategies for what they can do for support.
