How People and Organizations Can Thrive -- Together

It’s a source of tension in almost all organizations.  Often, it simmers under the surface.  Other times, it erupts into the open.  But it’s all-too-common -- and afflicted all of us at one time or another.

It’s the pervasive "us vs. them" mentality that divides a company's leaders from its workforce, limiting the organization's performance and impairing its employees' experience of the workplace.

And, ironically, it’s a dilemma perpetuated – sometimes even celebrated -- by the conventional "work-life balance" approach to individual well-being, which calls for splitting ourselves in two: the worker and the person.

This is a business-as-usual problem that’s not good for business and doesn’t have to be usual.  And Jim Hjort, LCSW, the speaker at the June 5 meeting of the Bruin Professionals Beverly Hills Chapter, will tell us how to solve it.

A psychotherapist, executive coach and UCLA-certified mindfulness meditation instructor, Jim will teach us:

  • About an evidence-based framework for understanding human well-being as a matter of being whole and integrated in all areas of life;
  • Why compassionate, emotionally-intelligent leadership and person-centered, healthy workplaces improve employee engagement, morale, and business success; and
  • How organizations and their people can be partners in helping each other to thrive.

JOIN US for Jim's presentation, breakfast, and another generous serving of the famous “3 C’s” – Commerce, Camaraderie and Community – that only Bruin Professionals can offer. Inexpensive parking (2-hours free) is available within one block of our meeting location at the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce.

Beverly Hills Chapter meetings are open to BP members from any chapter, as well as anyone interested in learning more about Bruin Professionals.

Cost:  $5 at the door for bagels, fruit, coffee and more!
