HEALTHCARE ETHICS AND END-OF-LIFE CARE

It’s a dilemma all of us will have to face -- and often at the most unexpected of times: A parent, spouse, sibling or other loved one has suffered a terrible accident, has dementia, or is in the final stages of a terrible disease. End-of-life decisions have to be made. What do you do?

UCLA DR. NEIL WENGER, a nationally-known medical ethicist and expert on end-of-life issues, will tell us.

Advances in medicine pioneered by world-class healthcare institutions like UCLA have made for many modern-day miracles.  They’ve also set the stage, however, for agonizing decisions which force us to weigh dramatic life-extension techniques against human dignity.

But there are ways to deal with this predicament, according to Dr. Wenger, and they involve careful planning, preparation and communication.

JOIN US on Tuesday, August 7 for Dr. Wenger’s presentation, breakfast, and another generous serving of the famous “3 C’s” – Commerce, Camaraderie and Community – that only Bruin Professionals can offer.

Inexpensive parking (2-hours free) is available within one block of our meeting location at the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce.

Beverly Hills Chapter meetings are open to BP members from any chapter, as well as anyone interested in learning more about Bruin Professionals. Please be sure to RSVP as early as possible, as we expect this to be a popular presentation!

Cost:  $5 at the door for bagels, fruit, coffee and more!
