Sandra Gonzales
Sandra serves as the Assistant Director of Development for Alumni Scholarships at UCLA's Office of Scholarships and Student Support. In her role, Sandra focuses on mid-level and annual giving gifts, working to build a strong pipeline for Alumni Scholarships. She collaborates with various Alumni Networks to develop tailor strategic fundraising plans for their Alumni Scholarship, shares best practices and resources for donor stewardship, and serves as a thought partner in efforts to enhance scholarship. She brings over ten years of experience in advocating for marginalized communities and expanding educational opportunities. As a first-generation, low-income student, she understands the financial barriers that can limit access to higher education. Her personal journey has shaped her ability to identify unique opportunities and perspectives, fueling her commitment to making higher education equitable and accessible for all. Sandra has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from CSU Dominguez Hills and a Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University School of Law. Laura Gonzales Laura joined the UCLA Office of Scholarships and Student Support Initiatives March 2024 as Director of Development for Financial Aid and Scholarships. Her work focuses on building pipelines for long-term scholarship support. Laura joined UCLA after eight years in development at USC where she held positions in advancement services, annual giving, and alumni relations. Most recently she served as a major gift officer focusing on scholarship support for the USC Iovine and Young Academy, working with alumni, parents, corporate partners, and community NGOs. Laura has a BA in Chicano/a Studies & Cultural Anthropology from UCSB and an MA in Communication Management from USC.
