Please join Orange County’s Bruin Professionals on August 19th for our next virtual networking meeting.  At this August meeting,  Julie Cho and Katy Chai, two of our distinguished chapter members, will speak about the Secure Act and its ramifications for estate and financial planning.  Additionally, we will have our famous Bruin Mini-Mini breakout rooms to give everyone a chance for some more small-group networking.  We start the meeting at 11:30 a.m. and finish up by 1:00 p.m.  

About the Speakers 

Katy Chai (CPA, MBA) is a financial planner with MassMutual. She is an advocate for financial security of individuals and families and is dedicated to the highest level of personal client service as well as life experienced advice. As a trusted advisor, accountability partner, and coach, she is dedicated to helping clients make smart financial decisions and avoid unintended consequences so they can stay focused on their long term goals. As an independent broker, she is committed to bringing best-in-class products and concepts to her clients. Katy received her B.A. in Business Economics with minors in Accounting and English Literature from UCLA and completed her M.B.A. from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. During Covid, Katy alternates between being grateful for her three daughters entertaining themselves and refereeing between them and her husband, Joe. 

Julie M. Cho has been an attorney for over 20 years and is the principal attorney at Cho Law Firm, APC in Irvine, CA.  She has counseled both individuals and small businesses in all matters involving estate planning and business succession planning.  She specializes in drafting personalized trusts and wills, as well as preparing for incapacity through power of attorneys and Advance Health Care Directives.   Julie transcends her practice beyond mere document preparation by fully understanding the family dynamics and relationships, and educating her clients on all the options that are available through the powerful use of a trust.  It is this personal approach to estate planning, combined with a sincere concern for her clients, that make her a trusted partner with other professionals in the financial services industry. Julie received a B.A. in Philosophy from UCLA, and a J.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
