When Insurance Law and Fine Art Photography Collide

Join BP Westwood and Eric Lawton to discuss the unexpected intersection of insurance law and fine art photography. Eric will walk us through the interrelationship he finds between the two as creative processes and will share some of his beautiful artwork as well!

About the Speaker

Eric Lawton represents businesses and individuals in disputes with insurance carriers, with an emphasis on representation of employers in disputes with workers compensation insurers. Every employer is required to have workers comp insurance, but the costs of such coverage can be difficult to predict.  Eric will present information that is essential for every employer and their trusted advisors to know in assessing risks, controlling costs and dealing with insurers who don’t keep their promises. Eric’s awards and honors include: rated "AV Preeminent 5.0 out of 5" by Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review,  Martindale-Hubbell's highest rating for legal ability and ethics; listed in “Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.” Martindale-Hubbell's recognition for highest level of ability, conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence; rated "Superb" by AVVO, its highest rating;  listed in SuperLawyers (Thompson Reuters); listed in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Law.

On the “back side of his card,” Eric is also a fine art photographer, writer and visual artist whose work has been exhibited and published throughout the world. His art is in numerous private, corporate and public collections including the Skirball Museum, the International Photography Museum, the New York Public Library and the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris. His multimedia theatrical work has included visual montages with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl. One of Eric’s writings was quoted by Susan Sarandon during the 75th Academy Awards. His photography books include The Soul of the World (HarperCollins), The Soul Aflame (Conari Press) and Event Horizon (Nazraeli Press 2019), which won First Prize at the Palm Springs Photography Festival and was exhibited at the Annenberg Space for Photography.  Eric is the recipient of numerous awards, including The International Photography Awards, American Photographic Artists’ “Curator’s Choice Award” and Communication Arts’ Award of Excellence.  You may see his work is at www.ericlawtonphotography.com
