Sara L. Chenetz

In and out of courts throughout the country, Sara Chenetz guides clients through restructurings, workouts, and litigation, including identifying investment prospects, recovering amounts owed, enhancing business relationships, and improving governance and capital structures.

Sara has first-chaired multiple trials, arbitrations, and mediations. She has also served as a court-appointed Chapter 11 trustee in the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Central District of California and District of Nevada. She serves as a mediator in bankruptcy cases in California and elsewhere.

Sara guides troubled businesses, their officers and directors, lien holders, buyers of assets, parties doing business with troubled businesses, official committees, trustees, assignees, and others. Clients benefit from Sara's niche knowledge in a variety of areas and industries, including entertainment, fintech, media, real estate, senior living, technology, and wine.

Sheri L. Bonstelle

Sheri L. Bonstelle is a Partner in the firm's Real Estate Department and is Chair of the Land Use & Development Practice. She specializes in land use, zoning, environmental, litigation and construction law.

Sheri works on large complex development projects from purchase of the property through entitlement, construction, and litigation. She manages all aspects of the entitlement process, including representing clients before local and state agencies, commissions and councils. She has entitled and successfully defended a range of cases from a million square foot mixed-use hotel, residential and retail development in Downtown Los Angeles, to a boutique hotel in a historic structure in Hollywood. She also represents agricultural owners in complying with the Williamson Act and farm housing laws, and industrial users in preserving trucking uses in response to recent State and local laws.

J. Michael Issa

Mr. Issa is a well-known expert witness and is highly experienced in litigation matters, both in bankruptcy matters and in civil litigation. He has twice been named a "Top Three Expert-Economic" by Daily Report. He has testified live and by declaration more than 100 times in his career. He has be the testifying expert in Plan confirmation hearings dozens of time. He has recently been the Federal Receiver over a luxury residential property in Hollywood Hills and orchestrated a successful sale. He is also the Court-appointed Independent Manager over a major mixed-use development project in Los Angeles.

Mr. Issa is often engaged as a court-appointed liquidating trustee or Receiver of portfolios of real property and/or of operating companies. As a Bankruptcy Responsible Officer, he managed a diversified portfolio of 27 properties in four states, ultimately liquidating the assets and making a very meaningful distribution to creditors. He has worked on more than 100 bankrputcy matters in various capacities, including, Trustee, CRO, Financial Adviser to the Debtor, and Investment Banker to the Debtor.
