Meet the Speaker:
Captain Scott Scheffler

Captain Scott Scheffler currently oversees the Administrative Bureau at the UCLA Police Department, which includes units such as Professional Standards, Personnel & Training, Records, Budget and Finance, IT, Accreditation, and the Communications Center. During Scott’s 22-year career with UCLA PD, he has worked in almost every area of the department as an officer, sergeant, and lieutenant, and from September 2024 through August 2025, he served as the interim chief of police. Prior to his time as a sworn peace officer, Scott was a public safety dispatcher and a community service officer at the UCLA Police Department. Scott has a bachelor’s degree in math/applied science, accounting, and programming from UCLA, and a master’s degree in criminology, law and society from University of California, Irvine.
