There are a number of incredible emerging technologies that hold amazing opportunities to improve the delivery of healthcare and enhance patients’ lives. Yet the laboratory industry is facing unprecedented obstacles that threaten to stifle innovation and prevent patient access to these life-changing new technologies.

This discussion will enter around the various advances in laboratory medicine and how regulation, reimbursement, and politics are radically changing the dynamics of healthcare delivery and the resulting impact that will have on patient care.

Meet the speaker:

Ronald A. Blum, Ph.D.

VP Science & Technology, OmniPathology

With over 25 years’ experience in clinical laboratories, diagnostics, and clinical trials, Dr. Blum has helped companies drive growth, expand into new markets, and increase profitability and valuation. He has been instrumental in bringing to market hundreds of new and enhanced assays and has served in senior leadership roles at major laboratories and diagnostic companies. Dr. Blum has lectured internationally on the latest developments in precision

medicine, technology, and laboratory science, and has published extensively. He is Vice President of Science & Technology at OmniPathology and Chief Executive Officer for Blum & Associates Consulting, LLC. Dr. Blum received his B.S. in Biology from UCLA, attended two years at the UCLA School of Dentistry before switching careers and obtaining a M.S. in Physics from California State University, Northridge, and his Ph.D. in Biophysics from UC Berkeley.
