Meet the speaker:

Carlos Aguirre

A recognized leader and enterprise defender with more than 25 years of increasing experience in executing vision based high-tech digital transformations, coupled with cybersecurity strategies that protect corporate digital assets. Carlos Aguirre currently holds an executive level role as Head of IT & Cybersecurity at Ducommun Inc.

Carlos has held various leadership positions for organizations, including an executive level role leading a next-generation hybrid-cloud cyberdefense transformation for a global aerospace and defense company. Furthermore, he led cutting edge IT cloud security architectures for Taco Bell Corporation. He also directed an advanced technology transformations at First Team Real Estate and Westfield in the areas of cloud, virtualization, networks, systems, IT security and data centers. Prior to these engagements, he served as the IT Manager for Bidz.com where he was in charge of all aspects of the company's technical changes from designing state-of-the-art infrastructures to meeting SOX / PCI Compliance. Furthermore, Carlos also worked for nearly a decade optimizing the IT infrastructure for UCLA.

Carlos has an MBA from Azusa Pacific University and a bachelor's degree from UCLA. In 2010, he was awarded the Employee of the Quarter for his collaborative work within teams at Outlook. In addition, his ability to cross organizational boundaries to forge relationships and solve complex challenges earned him the IT Excellence Service Award at Westfield (‘08). Carlos earned three Team Achievement & Professional Advancement Awards while working at UCLA (‘03, ‘04, ‘05). He also received the CEO’s Achieving Breakthrough Results Award (‘17) at Taco Bell Corporation/YUM! Brands.
