Biofuels, batteries, and hydrogen: the Road to Decarbonization
Meet the speaker:
Fernando Lopez
Fernando is in the final year of his PhD at UCLA through the department of chemistry. His research utilizes electricity-producing bacteria to convert various waste streams to useful energy. Fernando is passionate about translating lab-bench technology to a commercial scale. Fernando recently cofounded HYenergy, an early stage startup looking to develop hydrogen infrastructure in Los Angeles and abroad. In his spare time Fernando loves spending time with his family, taking trips with his wife and his dog Turbo. He also loves playing golf, swimming, and trying new restaurants around the city.
Fernando will introduce himself, talk a bit about his field of research and the clean energy landscape with batteries and hydrogen fuels.
Bagels & coffee will be provided.
