Jeffrey Jampol and Doug Mark will be sharing their considerable expertise and experiences in a presentation to the Lawyers’ Affinity Group of Bruin Professionals entitled:

Alcoholism and Addiction in the Legal Field: What it actually is, how to assess, what to do, how to (truly) help. 

This is a not to be missed presentation about substance abuse, for which 1 hour of competency credit will be offered.

Meet the Speaker:

Doug Mark

Since 1986, music attorney Doug Mark has represented all possible entities in the music and film industries, including independent record companies, major record companies, independent and major music publishers, superstar recording artists, new recording artists, record producers, film composers, executives, technology companies, etc..

His firm, Mark Music & Media Law, P.C., was founded in 2007, with offices in Los Angeles and New York. Mr. Mark’s work involves high‐level artist negotiations for catalogue sales, recordings, publishing, television, books, live theater and also private equity consulting, joint venture formation, etc..

Doug has substantial service with non-profits in the fields education and soccer, and operates (with wife Nikki) the TM23 Foundation, which funds and develops athletic fields in the City of Los Angeles. 

Jeffrey Jampol

Grammy®-winning and Emmy®-nominated producer Jeff Jampol is the CEO of JAM, Inc, which manages The Doors, Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship, The Mamas & The Papas, George Clinton, Parliament/Funkadelic, and the Estates of Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Charlie Parker, Juan Gabriel, and John Lee Hooker. Previous clients include the Ramones, as well as the Estates of Tupac Shakur, Kurt Cobain, Otis Redding, and Muddy Waters.

JAM, Inc is also a consultant to the Estates of Michael Jackson, Henry Mancini, and Peter Tosh.

Jampol produced, with Dick Wolf, the 2009 Doors theatrical documentary film, When You’re

Strange, narrated by Johnny Depp, for which Jampol and Wolf won the 2011 Grammy® Award,

and were nominated for a 2010 Primetime Emmy® Award. In 2010, Jampol helped conceive, create and produce the Tony®-Nominated hit Broadway musical, A Night With Janis Joplin, which is now touring worldwide. In 2015, Jampol produced, along with Oscar®-Winner Alex Gibney, the theatrical documentary film, Janis: Little Girl Blue, directed by Amy J. Berg. Jampol became a voting member of The Recording Academy® in 1985 and sat on the Board Of Governors of NARAS’ Los Angeles chapter from 2007-09. He is a Lecturer in The Music Industry at UCLA, teaching at the Herb Alpert School Of Music, after having taught courses at UCLA for the previous 19 years on the music business, marketing, branding, and deal negotiation, as presented by UCLA and sponsored by The Recording Academy®. 

Jampol has also served as a moderator and featured speaker regarding artist management, digital media strategy, and entertainment marketing for Darden School Of Business at the University Of Virginia; Anderson School Of Business at UCLA; Marshall School Of Business at USC; California Lawyers for the Arts; South By Southwest Music Conference; NARAS®; Nashville Music Conference; BMI; and Loyola Marymount University.
