Kimberly is really a renowned expert on cyber security and what to do to avoid.  There have been some legal changes that just were announced that will also impact liability.  

Meet The Speaker:

Ms. Kimberly Pease has an extensive background in the applications of technology and security to the needs of middle-market companies. She currently holds a CISSP certification (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification. Ms. Pease has been awarded Cybersecurity
Professional of the Year by the Los Angeles Business Journal CTO Awards 2017. During her career she has implemented computer systems for a wide-range of organizations in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Additionally, she has led installation projects at the Pentagon, the Government Printing Office and many state government offices.

Ms. Pease and her business partner, Dr. Stan Stahl, co-founded Citadel Information Group in 2002 to assist organizations more effectively secure their critical information assets. For 18 years, the company provided information security management services to business and the not-for-profit community. In January 2020, Citadel was acquired by Miller Kaplan Arase LLP, a top-100 certified public accounting firm. Ms. Pease is now the Director of Information Security at Miller Kaplan and provides those same information security management services to her clients.

As a former Chief Information Officer for Pictorial Offset Corporation, a high-end middle-market commercial printing company, Ms. Pease’s leadership of the IT Department provided competitive advantage to the company. A member of the firm’s Steering Committee, she led the company’s ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 initiatives. Additionally, during an interim 7-month period, Ms. Pease was Acting Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to joining Pictorial, Ms. Pease was on the staff of Logic Associates, a software development company providing integrated business management systems. Later during her tenure at Logic, she was selected to open up a West Coast Sales operation in San Francisco, CA creating an expanded marketing and sales presence for the company.

Pease has been a member of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association since 2002 and has served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer (2008 – 2011) and Education Director (2006 - 2007). She also served as Chair (2005 – 2012) of the annual conference, ISSA LA Information Security Summit. She has been a member of Infragard since 2002, which is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the private sector. Ms. Pease is a former member of ASQ (American Society of Quality) and previously held a Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) certification. She speaks frequently on information security, has published several articles and has been interviewed several times on ABC News Good Morning America and NBC News.
