FROM THE UCLA FOOTBALL FIELD TO THE NFL GRIDIRON AND THEN TO THE INVESTMENT WORLD, JEFF LOCKE DISCUSSES KEY TRAITS IN ACHIEVING SUCCESS

Jeff will discuss his path from professional athlete to start up employee and highlight the key traits that have helped him succeed in his second career. He will touch on the business of the NFL, what is like being a player in such a cut-throat environment, and how he now helps other athletes achieve success during and after their playing careers.

Meet the Speaker:

Drafted into the NFL in 2013, Jeff spent 4 years as the starting punter for the Minnesota Vikings and continued his football career for 2 more seasons with the Colts, Lions and 49ers. While in the NFL, he spent two off seasons interning with Dimensional Fund Advisors and a venture capital firm, as well as consulting in wealth management. Prior to his career as a professional athlete, Jeff was a 4-year starter on the football team and earned a bachelor's degree in economics from UCLA, where he also went on to receive his Certificate of Personal Financial Planning.

Jeff is passionate about helping his peers as a board member and mentor of the 3rd Decade Program, a one-of-a-kind charity providing financial education and two years of unbiased financial mentoring to jump-start the lives of young people. While in college and the NFL, Jeff was also fortunate to be given a platform to educate his teammates on personal finance, investing, and the investment industry.

Jeff is an Arizona native but now resides in Calabasas, California where he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, dog, golfing, and hiking. He is also an avid reader across multiple disciplines that include finance, history, philosophy and psychology. 

As the West Coast chapter is the only happy hour meeting, feel free to bring your favorite glass of wine, frosty ale, or hard liquor as we hear from Jeff and mingle in breakout rooms with other Bruins up and down the coast!
