Meet the Speaker:

Saida Pagán is a Los Angeles-based journalist, writer and media coach. She has worked for news organizations all over the United States and been a newscaster in California for more than 35 years. Saida is a member of both SAG-AFTRA and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and has appeared in nearly 100 television shows, movies and industrial films. She is currently the host of the Youtube show “American Stories with Saida Pagan.”

Saida earned a master’s degree with distinction in Strategic Communication from National University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Speech from the City University of New York. She also completed a teaching certificate and certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other
Languages from UCLA Extension. Saida is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, the Society of Professional Journalists and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She is currently pursuing an Accreditation in Public Relations and a certificate in Journalism from New York University’s School of Professional Studies.

Over the years Saida has received several awards for journalism including multiple Los Angeles Press Club-sponsored awards, Golden Mike awards, National Association of Telecommunication Officers and Advisors awards for government television and a team coverage Emmy. She was also a finalist in the 2011 Writer’s Digest Writing Competition and is currently writing a memoir and a novel. Saida enjoys reading, salsa dancing, walks along SoCal beaches and dining with family and friends.
