Restricted coverage, skyrocketing rates, and State Farm (one of the largest insurers in the state) makes the decision to stop writing new coverage in California entirely. What is going on with insurance in California?  Our guest speaker for the month of June is Jon Garder, CPCU, MBA from JSG Insurance. Jon will provide us with a thorough update on the changes within the insurance industry in the Golden State, and explain how best to adapt to the upcoming shifts. 

Meet the Speaker:

 
Jon has been in the insurance industry for more than 30 years. He began his career with Farmers Insurance as an underwriter and that is where he learned about how insurance really works. He went on to hold several management positions at Farmers. In addition to his corporate training, Jon also achieved his C.P.C.U. designation as well as completing his MBA from CSUN. 

In 2002, Jon decided to leave Farmers corporate offices and open his own Farmers Insurance Agency. Over the next 11 years, he built a very successful agency and won several awards and gained community recognition. In 2013, Jon decided to leave Farmers and open up an independent brokerage so he could better serve his clients. Over the last couple of years, he has developed a process to help people by: evaluating their insurance needs and their current coverage and educating them how insurance works, explaining everything in plain English so it is easy to understand.

His business philosophy is to help educate his clients to understand their coverage…before they have a loss. Jon has been married for 33 years and lives with his wife in Santa Clarita, CA. They have two children who have graduated with Engineering degrees and are building careers in that field.
