 Can You, or Your Clients, ‘Workaround’ the Trump SALT Cap: Introducing AB 150

Some believe the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), attempted to “punish” high tax “blue” states by limiting the deductibility of State and Local Taxes (SALT) to $10,000 annually. Several states, including California, created a “workaround” by passing California Assembly Bill (AB) 150 on July 16, 2021. AB 150 applies through the end of 2025 when certain provisions of the TCJA are scheduled to sunset. Come learn who is eligible, and how this bill can be leveraged to reduce federal income taxes for certain taxpayers.
