Travel in 2022 and Beyond – Opportunities and Challenges

The legendary Dodo may be extinct, but thank goodness we still have travel agents.  Our very own Lisa Gray will share her experiences, expertise and wisdom regarding the state of the travel industry.  Yes, the last 18 month wreaked havoc on all our travel plans and the industry generally.  But where there are challenges, there are also opportunities.  Tourism will take some time to return to a more “normal” state, but Lisa is not one to simply sit on the sidelines.  She will help us explore some of the great destinations we can begin planning for now and share some stories that will enlighten our view of how an experienced travel agent can help in maximizing our vacation experiences.  Lisa will be pleased to field questions.

Meet The Speaker

Lisa GrayLisa Gray is an independent travel advisor affiliated with Cruise Planners and American Express Travel. Although she is an expert on all types of cruises, many of the vacations she plans are on dry land including resort stays, escorted tours, and custom itineraries in Europe, Oceania, Africa and other destinations across the globe. Her specialties include honeymoons and family and group travel.
While travel has been a lifelong passion, it has not been her only career. After graduating from Boston University and receiving her master’s degree from the UCLA School of Architecture and Planning, Lisa worked as a City Planner in Boston and Southern California.
She then joined her family’s lighting manufacturing company helping it grow from ten employees to an industry-leader employing 275 people. She oversaw IT, accounting, human resources and environmental safety.
After selling the lighting business, Lisa and her husband, Al bought a 200-year-old farm in Vermont that they ran as an inn for ten years. The inn, set on 50 acres of protected open space with a mile of frontage on a fly-fishing stream, welcomed up to 38 guests and kept them extremely busy 24/7.
Lisa is an avid reader and advocate for whole-food, plant-based eating. She has held board positions in several non-profit organizations. Her grant writing won her a Candlelight Award from the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Red Cross for obtaining a million-dollar grant for new emergency vehicles.
Lisa and Al moved their home and travel business from Los Angeles to Indio in 2019. They have two sons and four beautiful grandchildren who all live in Southern California.

Time will be set aside for attendee introductions, so using the video feature throughout the meeting is encouraged. Please watch the training and read the documents on the BP ZOOM Resource Center, so you are prepared for the meeting.
